I would recommend giving more of a tutorial, since you wouldn't easily know you could shoot up or destroy shurikens , but other than that the only other complaint is I want more.
Cool concept. The only things I'd improve with the game would be to make it more clear of what to do, how to do, and what you can do. Looking through these comments I've seen a fair bit of people not knowing you could shoot up or shoot shurikens for some of the game, it's also a little confusing to control(using "z" to jump felt a bit weird) and slightly difficult. Albeit it's flaws it is a creative game that I'd love to see more of and with the time limit it was quite amazing. 4/5 stars
Great work, I quite liked the concept of the game with the rearrangement of the map, it reminded me a bit of what they did with the editable dungeons of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Swith). I hope you don't mind but I recorded my playthrough of the game
this game is amazing, and I love the idea, but I think that it could use improvement, the low health makes the game overly hard, and certain mechanics are never explained or shown through gameplay, I didn't know I could shoot upwards, or destroy shurikens until late in the game.
Thanks! I loved the video - it's really well made :)
If you're interested, I've written a bit about the game's design process, and a bit about some of the difficulties I've had coming up with ideas to expand the game.
Amazing game! Such a shame I can't rate any longer, but the design is excellent! It's like that awesome dungeon in Skyward Sword.
I love that the difficulty is player chosen since you decide which rooms to use, and I found small bits of good design, like one of the first rooms asks you to shoot while the other one requires you to learn how to go up and down. Really imperssive game.
cool idea , i found myself replacing a level or two to have an easier difficulty and solve by that my problem in the game. this is different.
the pazzle element with it you sit and think without death punishment, followed by tension in your journey to the objective with a progress to lose if you die . i enjoyed that loop several times to the end of the game.
i will look for your next games. thanks for making us enjoy this short time.

YOU CAN DESTROY SHURIKENS?
I didn't know that until I accidentally shot one!
If you completed the game without accidentally shooting one-
G O D S A V E Y O U
i acctualy did! just took me 16 minutes and needed to tank through some shurikens...

AWESOME! I bet the sequel will be twice as good as this! It's already great with the basics, just imagine this with bosses and abilities!
Really nice idea and realization!
This is a brilliant idea, executed exceedingly well. This will easily be one of my most memorable Metroidvanias. Thank you!
this is a very creative way to make a game, nice job
I love this! Beautiful job.
I ended up talking about this game in the latest episode of my YouTube channel. Hope you enjoy!

Ingenious - I love it! If you fleshed this out, I would buy it
urgh, map was too hard. never made it to game
Amazing game!! The only one I ended up playing from beginning to end from the 2018 Jam winners :) Really nice concept and design :D

Unique, clever, and very fun. Also, really nice level of polish.
Very cool idea. Took me way too long to realise that you can shoot upwards.
Wow
wow, very cool game. I realy like the concept.
i really like this concept, and feel it could be something bigger
cool

Hmm... I'm surprised that there's no penalty for putting a room which links to void. If there were, it would add some challenge
But nonetheless, it's a good metroidvania with unique way of mapping and upgrades
Hey! Could you possibly add detection of keyboard layouts? On my QWERTZ keyboard, z and x are very far apart.
Small but fun!
That's a good idea - I've created a BBS page for the game now: https://lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=33693
I've also added the link to the game's description.
You'll be able to download the game as a cartridge from there. Alternatively, you should now be able to find it in Splore under Jam games now.
Very original and fun! Wondering if you will continue to develop this?
Thanks! I'd like to expand on the idea at some point, when I have time to.
Very fun concept
This was fun! Great idea. Took me a while to get to the end: 31:55 .
Wow, clever idea! Fun!
